College Football Top 16

Before unveiling our poll, here is how we got here. Centeroak Poker Room Members & Guest Members sent their polls in. We then put each team's ranking beside them added those rankings up, and the team w/the lowest numbers were ranked the highest.

For example, If Alabama received 3 1st place votes, 2 2nd, and 1 3rd, they would have be given a 10. Then say Florida received 3 1st place votes and 3 second place votes, they would have a 9. Thus Florida would be ranked higher than Alabama.

In a situation where a team was ranked in some polls but not in others, that team was given 1 more point than the final team ranked in that person's poll. For example, if Kansas was ranked in 13,14, & 16 in 3 polls, but not ranked in 3 others, they were given 3 17th rankings for the polls not ranked in.

Therefore.....(13+14+16+17+17+17=94), 94 would be their number.

Also if a person only didn't rank 16, non-ranked teams were still given 1 more point than than the final team ranked in their poll. For example if someone ranked only 10 teams, the non-ranked teams would all be given an 11. And if a person sent in more than 16 teams, than the team was given the exact ranking they had in a person's Top 20. In other words, the 18th ranked team in a Top 25 poll received 18 points.

So without further ado, here is the Centeroak Poker Room Top 16 College Football Poll.

  1. Alabama
  2. Florida
  3. Boise St. / Texas
  4. Virginia Tech
  5. Cincinnati
  6. Miami / USC
  7. Oregon
  8. Iowa
  9. Ohio St.
  10. TCU
  11. South Florida
  12. Penn St.
  13. Kansas
  14. LSU
  15. Nebraska
  16. Georgia Tech

I realize most polls don't rank a 5th place team if there is a tie for 3rd, but I for 1 have always hated that so we are gonna do that here. We have some things to discuss on the next podcast....whenever that might be.

Because some of us are idiots.
